In the meantime below are testimonials from a few of our recent safari clients.

Ground Hornbill, Manyara, Tanzania

"I'll keep it short. It was brilliant. Truly an unforgettable experience. The wildlife was of course the star of the show. But the unexpected highlights for us were also the wonderful staff, our excellent Guide (thank you for our specialist bird guide!), and the amazing scenery. Thank you, and see you again soon!"
John & Julie, UK - Tanzania & Rwanda, Jan 2012

Kenya Samburu Safari "I had no idea you could have such luxury in the bush! It was awesome. We loved it. And the wildlife was pretty good too! ;) Thank you for making our Honeymoon so special. We will always treasure it."
Rebecca & Steve on Honeymoon, Canada - Kenya, Jan 2012

Lion on safari We are our nearly on our last day here and the trip has been splendid! Truly remarkable adventure - thank you! This trip, from start to finish, was perfectly conceived, organized and executed. I cannot thank you enough, but hope you understand how deeply we appreciate all your work.
Susan & Jason, USA - Kenya, Nov 2011

Masai Mara, Kenya

This was a great experience from beginning to end. The level of professionalism with which our trip was handled was impressive - not only did we receive invaluable guidance in planning our trip (especially given that we were admittedly a very demanding group, wanting to do many different things in the little time we had available), but we could also enjoy our safari secure in the knowledge that every minute aspect of the trip was in very capable hands! I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Conservation Safaris to anyone - I seriously doubt that our trip would have been as great a success had it not been for them!

Elephant in Selous, Tanzania

Boat Safari, Selous, Tanzania

We had a truly wonderful time and Conservation Safaris tailored our safari perfectly to our wishes. We specified that we wanted most to have maximum experiences with the animals and we certainly did that!! The four safari camps we stayed in all had their own charm and I was sorry to leave each one, only to be delighted at the next.... It was magical!!!
Mark was great in sorting out the complexities before our Safari and keeping us informed. Although we are seasoned travellers, we could not have organized such a great trip ourselves. We will be back and I have recommended Conservation Safaris to our friends and would recommend them whole-heartedly to anyone.

Leopard cub on Tanzania Safari

Maasai in Amboseli

We truly enjoyed our holiday. We would rate our overall experience, and your service as excellent!
The only thing we would have changed is we would have preferred to fly to each camp instead of driving... All camps and lodges were excellent. We thought we might have preferred to stay longer at each camp and therefore eliminate one of the camps but after looking back we would have a hard time deciding which camp to eliminate. They were all great in their own way. Singo [our Driver/Guide] was excellent! My only suggestion would be for Lemala camp to bring warm water in the morning to use for washing up... If that is my only suggested improvement, it should tell you that we thought the whole vacation was fabulous!
Frank, Lisa, Erika & Kurtis, Canada - Tanzania, Jul 2011

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge We had a fantastic time. Salvatore [our driver/guide] was brilliant and we had a superb holiday. Everything we wanted it to be! Many, many thanks. We're getting married in a few weeks' time!

Safari in Tanzania "We had a great time. We had all the information we needed before & during the safari. We were very happy with our driver/guide & can only recommend him. We are coming back with your next year, to Kenya this time!"
Ladislav & Renata, Czech Republic - Tanzania & Zanzibar, May 2011

Cheetah in Serengeti, Tanzania "Wow. That's really the best we can say. The wildlife in Tanzania was out of this world. We saw lions, cheetahs, loads of wildebeest (very cute babies!), zebras, giraffes... Everything we wanted to & more. Then finishing off on the island in Mozambique was wonderful. It was so gorgeous. It felt so remote, yet we ate well & were so well looked after. We loved it! Can't wait to come back for more!"

Testimonial - Kenya horseback safari "We had an absolutely fabulous time!  We're so glad we went with your suggestions of going to the private conservancies in Laikipia [northern Kenya] - they really did feel so private, and I loved that we could get out of the vehicle and do other activities. The absolute highlight was the horseback safari - the horses were well schooled & cared for.  We really felt we were in remote Africa, and we even managed to get close to giraffes & zebras!  Thank you so much - and we hope to see you again soon!"

Testimonial - Mafia Island, Beach & Diving Safari "The holiday was fantastic. The gorilla tracking in Rwanda was fantastic, if a little hard work in places. The huge silverback gorilla got pretty close to us too - very exciting! Thanks once again for everything. :)

Ruaha was just amazing - the feeling of being in the vast wilderness is indescribable. The wildlife was incredible - big herds of everything, and our favourite, a pride of 26 lions with their cubs! We were even lucky enough to see elephants digging for water in the sand river... from our tent! Thank you so much for our most incredible adventure in Africa to date! We will be calling you again very soon!"

We had a truly wonderful time and Conservation Safaris tailored our safari perfectly to our wishes. We specified that we wanted most to have maximum experiences with the animals and we certainly did that!! The four safari camps we stayed in all had their own charm and I was sorry to leave each one, only to be delighted at the next. We saw so many animals, including those who were at times immediately outside our tents, we felt well and truly immersed in the African environment. Despite this we were well looked after, well fed, and, well informed as well. We would particularly recommend having local guides who know the animals and know their territories. Highlights for us: some 15 different prides of lions, 2 different leopards, both hunting and one making a kill, cheetahs including a mother and cub, rhinos, so many elephants including the two resident bulls at Lake Manze (a major highlight) and various babies, mating ostriches, the wildebeast and zebra herds, giraffes, buffalo herds, warthogs and so on and so on. Plus learning about Maasai culture. All of this in 2 weeks!!!

Selous Safari, Tanzania

Elephant in Selous, Tanzania Safari

Tanzania, July 2011 - Lisa, Frank, Erika & Kurtis, Canada

We truly enjoyed our holiday. We would rate our overall experience, and your service as excellent!

The only thing we would have changed is we would have preferred to fly to each camp instead of driving. We found the drive from Amboseli to Ngorongoro especially too exhausting along with all the crowds and hassle at the border.

All camps and lodges were excellent. We especially liked Porini Amboseli. We were under the impression that our accommodations only got better as we continued on our vacation so this first camp exceeded our expectations and was one of the best. We especially liked the hospitality of everyone. The Masai warriors was a special added bonus. Going out for sundowners was a highlight of our stay there. We wish this was available at all camps but understand that it is not allowed in the Serengeti. The Lemala Serengeti Mara Camp was also excellent. The food and hospitality was great. The Kati kati Camp tents were not quite as nice as the other tents (they did not have a separate bathroom area), but at this camp we woke up with zebras at our camp door and in the afternoon returned to a giraffe right at the back of one of the tents eating from a close by tree!

We thought we might have preferred to stay longer at each camp and therefore eliminate one of the camps but after looking back we would have a hard time deciding which camp to eliminate. They were all great in their own way. We even enjoyed the Farmhouse lodge, this was the only accommodation available for us since we booked our safari so late. We would have preferred a camp instead of a lodge, but in the end enjoyed the beautiful Farmhouse grounds and rooms and especially appreciated the warmth of the fireplace at night.

Singo was excellent! We enjoyed his knowledge and his company throughout the safari.

My only suggestion would be for the Lemala camp to bring warm water in the morning to use for washing up with along with the coffee and wake up call. They did this at the Porini Amboseli camp as well as the Kati Kati camp. It was a nice touch! If that is my only suggested improvement, it should tell you that we thought the whole vacation was fabulous!

The highlight of our safari was when we spotted 2 leopard cubs, one in a tree and one under the tree. We were parked head to head with another safari vehicle watching the two leopards when the one on the ground started to walk right towards us. We thought he was going to cross the road between our two cars. Instead the leopard decided to take shelter from the heat under the car in front of ours. We were able to take pictures of the cub looking straight up at us as he cleaned himself under the car (just like a typical house cat back home would do). It was amazing to be so close to this animal with him looking us straight in the eyes. Our driver said he never saw anything like it. The poor people in the other vehicle just got to see our reaction to watching this cat, unfortunately they tried to maneuver thier camera under their car and scared it back to join his friend up in the tree. Pictures attached.

Walking with Masai

Tanzania & Kenya, July 2010 - Brett & Olga, Australia

Hi Mark,

Thank you for meeting us for lunch in Nairobi that day - it was great to finally meet you. We arrived home yesterday :( and are still feeling quite jetlagged.

We had the most fantastic time. Everything went so smoothly for us and we'll have the most wonderful, exciting memories of Africa. We saw all the animals we wanted to and more.

Nairobi was great - interesting to see a different culture & the hotel was fantastic.

Ngorongoro Crater - the room was nice and the view spectacular - being in the crater was awe inspiring. The day in the crater was quite cold and the animals looked cold too.

Tarangire - fantastic, it blew us away we really felt in the midst of it all. The first night just after 11pm we had a herd of all different sizes of elephants chomping away all around our tent - it was amazing. We heard hyena calls and lion roars and heard a lion kill around 5am. We loved it there.

Amboseli Camp - really liked being there in the bush as well. Our Masai guide 'Wilson' knew you and was a fantastic guide as he spotted everything. The walking and village visit blew us away.

Ol Pejeta Camp - was very nice but absolutely freezing cold those 2 days.

Masai Mara - we were very surprised to be upgraded to 'Mara Explorer Camp'. We asked the Manager Mariana why we were lucky enough to be upgraded and she said the company who booked us is a very good customer of theirs etc etc. It was the pinnacle for us - perfect for our anniversary - the best place yet. Our verandah overlooked the Talek River. We were neighbors with hippos, all types of antelope, elephants, baboons, crocodiles etc. The Great Wildebeest migration was amazing. We had an anniversary cake that everyone shared with us and a lovely traditional song - we were really moved.

Every new destination we went to we saw new species. Most of all everyone treated us like royalty. The guides, drivers, askaris, waiters etc all were fantastic. Now were back home - but not treated like royalty any more...........he he.

Thanks Mark for organising this great holiday for us.

Best wishes & regards
Brett & Olga

Kenya, May 2010 - John & Vika, UAE

Now back at work (unfortunately).

What a fabulous time Vika and myself had and only would have dreamt of in the past. To start with, from Vika’s initial enquiry with your company we had been dealt with in a totally professional manner, every activity requested was made available to us. Meet and greet by Victor at Nairobi airport was just perfect.
Our guide Abdullah Malek, words cannot describe how courteous, helpful, polite, cheerful and very, very knowledgeable he was, a true gentleman and great ambassador not only for your company but also his country (please pass on our regards).

Our Safari was superb and went like clock work, we managed to see four out of the Big Five with only the Leopard not showing face. Nevertheless all others plus allot more were well on display and totally breath taking, moreover we plan to revisit September/October this year. All accommodation was authentic and fitted well with our surroundings and the politeness/friendliness of all staff was amazing they made us feel very welcome and just could not do enough for us, food was second to none and we both enjoyed a good feast on completion of our daily animal spotting

Many of our friends are now also interested with the idea of a Safari holiday, with which for sure your company will be well promoted.

Myself and Vika wish you and your team every happiness possible.

Many thanks & Regards

‘We shall be back’

John & Vika

Testimonial - Kenya Safari, wildlife watching

Kenya & Tanzania, November 2008 - Allen & Pat, USA

We had a wonderful time. All the accommodations were excellent and all scheduled transports worked well. We felt very comfortable.

It's hard to pick a favorite place in Kenya. Animal life was abundant in all places. If we had to pick a favorite camp it would be Olonana. Everything about it was wonderful (hippos off our deck) and the staff was exceptional. Their assistant manager Maurice made it a point to always make you feel welcome and important. No doubt we will try to come back.

One thing we would like to have changed. Our time was too short in Giraffe Manor. We arrived just in time for lunch, then had only 30 minutes to view the giraffes before departing again for the airport. It looked like a very nice place to stay overnight.

We could not deal with Stonetown vendors and so called guides. It was overwhelming. Zanzibar airport was quite a thrill! How all connections were made and our luggage made it through [home] is beyond our belief.

We just want to reiterate that we had a great adventure, took some wonderful pictures and video, and saw lots of exceptional game including a Topi giving birth. It took only 10 minutes from drop to standing up. Quite a show! We look forward to future safaris and would certainly utilize Conservation Safaris. Thank you for all your help and personal attention including the phone call in Zanzibar.

Tanzania & Zanzibar, October 2008 - Julia, Yves, Edouard, Constance, Guillaume, Belgium

We loved our safari!

Our guide Deo gratias was great.

A few comments:

the hotel in arusha was so so (food) excellent.

serena on the rim of the crater was v. nice.  (although there is a tented camp on the rim, some americans who had stayed there told us)

Olakira was great! We loved it.  Even though we had a few frights!

a herd of elephants with their young! about 20,  came twice into the camp once in the afternoon while we were having tea and then again at night all around our tents.... they were like 2 mtrs away from us... rather dangerous but we have great pictures.

I liked Ras Nungwi in zanzibar although we didn't really have a sea front room...food v good, nice staff, funky feel to it ( bathrooms so so)

We will come back one day as our children would like to do Kilimanjaro and apparently Tarangire is really a must... there is a tree next to a watering hole, where you can sleep (same americans told us...) and is amazing.

Anyway, thank you for everything. We will definitely pass on your name to friends.

best wishes for 2009

Julia & family

Zebra on Tanzania Safari

Tanzania, April 2008 - Beth & Gordon, USA

We've been back from our safari for over a month now and still talking about it.  What a fabulous trip starting with such great communications from [you] (as well as a face to face visit in Dar).  All our questions were answered before leaving.

We loved Innocent, our safari guide.  What a dear.  So patient with us and with a great sense of humor.  He really knew his stuff too.  He has a wealth of knowledge but somehow gave us enough information without giving too much.  He was very respectful of the land and animals. Many times we couldn't believe how close we were to the wildlife.

Our accommodations were wonderful and of course the Ngorangora Crater Lodge was spectacular!  We do miss George our butler though and wish he could have come home with us.

We give the whole experience an A++++ and have been referring friends to your company.  We've been showing off our pictures to everyone.

We really can't think of any improvements you need to make.  Our safari holiday was perfect and we'll remember it forever. Thank you for our once in a life-time adventure.  If we should be so fortunate to be able to return to Africa, we will be sure to use Conservation Safari.

We've enclosed a couple of pictures.

Lion on Tanzania Safari

Tanzania & Zanzibar, April 2008 - Rod, Karen, Billy & Sophia, Canada

The trip was fantastic.

The guide was great, he was very knowledgeable and able to find animals we would have driven by. The car was good, we saw more than we could have expected including an attempted kill by some cheetahs'.

The hotels were great and especially the Sopa in Serengeti. While the other hotels were good the staff at the Sopa were a cut above the rest.

The kids loved the small plane ride from Arusha to Zanzibar as well.

If I were to do anything differently I would have packed less luggage (You told me that) and I would have spent the extra money to fly back from the Serengeti as the drives was long and the same as the drive up. I also would have gone straight to Ngorgoro or Lake manyara as opposed to staying in Arusha on the first day. That said I am very happy with what we did.

The sequence of Safari, Stonetown and Zanz resort was perfect. For interest we decided to stay at Ocean Paradise and we could not have asked for better.

We took about 3000 photo's most of them in the parks. A couple were sensational and when we get them sorted we will send the best 4 or 5 to you. We tell everyone they should do this holiday at least once in their lives.

Thanks very much for your organization of the trip on short notice, all the hotels had us set up with the right type of beds and connecting rooms. Sopa did not have connecting rooms but fixed it immediately for us and there we no issues.

Regards

Rod, Karen, Billy and Sophia

Tanzania & Zanzibar, September 2007 - Jitka & Tomas, Ireland

So we are already at home, safe and sound as the Irish would say and we would love to say few words regarding our safari.

First of all, we have to say big Thank you to You and your team for organizing our itinerary as it did not have a mistake not even a little hiccup. Our safari experience was absolutely fabulous and we can very confidently say that it was a holiday of a life time.... it really overcame all of our expectations.

Accommodation was just superb and food really tasty and if I should pick the best of the lodges then it was definitely Serengeti Serena Lodge.  Not only the food was delicious but also the whole setting of this lodge is just fantastic.   Zanzibar extension was very nice too.

Overall, I have to repeat that it was a holiday of a life time and if somebody from my friends would ask me about safari holidays then I would definitely recommend your company for the top class service that You provide. Once again, thank you very much for your help.

So, regards and thanks to all in your team.

On Safari in Tanzania

Tanzania, June 2007 - Susan & Doug, USA

Our safari was so awesome,  Thank you so much for all of your hard work & planning.  I don't know where to begin! This may take awhile, I am not a short winded person.

First, Samson was a great driver/guide, very professional & knowledgeable. Also an amazing spotter. He was very easy to get along with, & was good at recommending things based on his experience.  He did not lead us astray. He's a definite asset to the company.

Mark introduced himself & wanted to make sure everything was up to par.  A great way to start the safari.  The accommodations were great, & they got better with each one.  All were very comfortable, & had their own individual charm.

Kikoti, what a place in the middle of nowhere. Jen & Peter were most attentive as well as their staff.  I enjoyed their extra curricular activities, a walk to the Overlook, a Night Game Drive & the Maasai Dance.  I loved the rooms/cabins.

Ngorongoro Farmhouse, a great place, such  a wonderful setting, & the lush landscaping. They had the friendliest employees of any of the lodges. We took the Farmhouse walk & the Coffee Tour. Loved the fireplaces in the room. Overall, this was my favorite, just a  down home, friendly atmosphere.

Mbalageti, this was the most awesome place, accommodation- wise. What a view from our upgraded chalet, & the bathtub on the patio, was a nice touch.  I loved their African Art, Once again, I had a great massage in their massage "room."  Nothing better than to have a glass of wine by the pool & watch the most phenomenal sunsets.

The Hot Air Balloon Ride, was definitely one of the highlights. Seeing the vastness of the Wildebeest Herds, their trails & hearing them. Such a different perspective, than being in a Toyota next to them. An experience no one should miss. A definite must!

I can't thank you enough for a most memorable vacation, now on the top of my list.

We will definitely call you for a revisit, or if we plan an Australian trip.

Thanks again,

Susan & Doug D, USA

Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar, September 2007 - Jodie & Daniel, Australia

The trip went without a hitch, which surprised us a bit!  Had a fantastic time and will definitely be back.  It's an amazing place and the people are wonderful to be around.  Just need to sift through all the photos now!!

We really enjoyed the Masai Mara, it was extremely exciting to get so close to the animals and the conservancy was perfect with limited vehicle numbers etc.  It was the highlight of the trip for us.  We saw quite a few wilderbeast, to say the least, and got to see their stressful crossing of the river with the crocs waiting to knock off the stragglers - although they were a bit full from the previous meal so no action there.  It was one of those morbid fascination times, where you were hoping they got over safely but seeing one get taken would have been pretty exciting.

We were looked after very well from all the staff at the camps and the African people are a joy to be around.  We made an extra effort to learn Swahili and we felt they really appreciated this, albeit a few strange looks when we got it wrong!!  The best place we stayed at was the Kikoti camp, it had a great feel about it and sleeping with the wind blowing through the flyscreen walls was just magic.  We went for a walk there every evening with the 2 guides and as nobody else wanted to walk we were on our own.  It was really special sitting up on the rocks for the sunset.  We witnessed the baboons climbing on shear rock faces to their night-time location on top of the rocks and the Rock Hyraxes were so cute.

Food was fantastic.  Also, we didn't get sick.

The crater itself was fascinating with so much going on in a small space.  Got a bit busy there and extremely dusty, however, we were expecting that.  The game drives were great however.
